About us
Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism
Who we are
AMLA Online is dedicated to strengthening the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism. We work with public authorities, financial institutions and other obliged entities to raise the standard of supervision and make the financial system a harder target for criminals.
Our people combine supervisory expertise, financial intelligence analysis, legal knowledge and international cooperation experience — a multidisciplinary team focused on one goal: keeping illicit finance out of the legitimate economy.
Mission, vision and values
Our mission
To protect society and the integrity of the financial system by promoting effective, risk-based AML/CFT supervision and cooperation.
Our vision
A financial environment where illicit funds have nowhere to hide — detected early, reported swiftly and acted on decisively.
Our values
Integrity, independence, professionalism and partnership guide everything we do, from supervision to stakeholder engagement.
What we do
Our work spans four core areas, delivered through close cooperation with national and international partners.
Supervise
We support and coordinate supervisory activity, helping ensure obliged entities apply robust customer due diligence and monitoring.
Analyse
We develop analytical capacity to identify emerging threats, typologies and vulnerabilities in the financial sector.
Cooperate
We facilitate information-sharing between supervisors, financial intelligence units and law enforcement.
Support
We provide guidance, tools and training so organisations of every size can meet their obligations effectively.
Governance
AMLA Online operates under a governance framework designed to guarantee independence, accountability and transparency in all its activities. Annual work programmes and activity reports are published to keep stakeholders informed.
How we work
A continuous cycle of assessment, action and improvement underpins everything we deliver.
Assess
We map threats and vulnerabilities across the financial sector, drawing on supervisory data, intelligence and stakeholder input.
Act
We coordinate supervisory responses, support investigations and help partners apply proportionate, effective measures.
Share
Findings, typologies and good practice are shared with authorities and industry so every lesson strengthens the whole system.
Improve
Feedback and outcomes feed back into our methods, keeping our frameworks current as risks and technology evolve.
Transparency & accountability
Public trust depends on openness. We publish our work programmes, report on our activities and consult stakeholders on major guidance — so that the standards we promote are standards we also live by.
